Scottish Gymnastics Awards

12/11/16

The 12th November was the 2016 Scottish Gymnastics Awards Dinner. This Year Fraser was nominated for Young Gymnast of the year. Bruce and Kyle attended the dinner with Fraser and his Parents. Also coaches and gymnasts from Saltire TeamGym were there. Fraser's achievements this year in both Trampolining and TeamGym have been exemplary. Not only was he selected for the BG National DMT squad. He was also selected for the GB national TeamGym squad and represented GB at the 2016 European TeamGym Championships in Slovenia. Fraser and his team came 3rd which was the first ever medal for GB in TeamGym.

Fraser was the winner of the young gymnast of the year award, and quite rightly so. Congratulations Fraser!

Scottish Championships Qualifier

27/08/16

This weekend was the final trampoline qualifier for the scottish national championships. We had 14 gymnasts competing in this competition with some who were trying new levels,  some who were competing for the first time in a few years and some who were competing for the first time ever. Overall it was a fantastic competition for the club to have so many gymnasts there representing us. Well done to everyone who took part.

Just Giving Page

As some of you may be aware, after his fantastic performance at the British Championships, Fraser has been selected to be part of the official GB team for DMT. He will be attending training weekends down at Lillieshal and then competing in the Antwerp Cup which is held in Belgium. This is quite expensive and completely self funded so we have set up a Just Giving page to try and raise some money to help him out. The link is below and we would be very grateful if you could have a look:

Thank you very much.

British NDP Finals 08-10/07/16

This weekend was the British NDP Finals and what a weekend it was. The competition was in Telford and we had 4 gymnasts who had qualified to compete. It was a long weekend with the gymnasts spread out between the 2 days but they all done fantastically well. Each person gaining a medal in their competitions. our results are:

Rory - 1st TRA

Kyle - 3rd TRA

Mhairi - 2nd TRA / 3rd DMT

Jenny - 3rd DMT

Not only was the competition a success for our club but for Scottish clubs as a whole. I think every club from Scotland had at least 1 gymnast who medalled. We are really starting to make some big improvements in the world of trampolining as a country.

Well done to everyone who qualified to take part this weekend. You have all worked extremely hard to get where you are in your trampolining. Also well done to all the coaches. All of your hard work is really starting to show. Lastly thank you to the judges and officials who give up their time to make these competitions run.

GB National DMT Squad Selection

Off the back of a very successful competition at the British Championships, Fraser has now officially been invited to attend the 2016 British Junior DMT Squad. He has also been asked to compete as part of the official GB team in the Antwerp cup competition which is being help in Antwerp, Belgium in September.  Massive congratulations Fraser. We look forward to seeing you in your official GB kit.

DMT in the afternoon was much more successful as he completed 4 fantastic passes winning the competition by a mile and gaining the score required to compete in the British Championships. Well done Fraser. We will be attending the second qualifier in May to give him another chance at qualifiying for trampolining.
